Foodnet Meals on Wheels of Tompkins County’s Mac ‘n Cheese Crawl 2021

Picture
Keefe Gorman of Merrill Lynch is a successful certified financial planner, certified financial manager, and certified special needs advisor in Ithaca, New York. When he isn’t working as a managing director with Merrill Lynch, Keefe Gorman sits on the board of directors for Foodnet Meals on Wheels of Tompkins County.

Serving residents throughout Tompkins County, New York, Foodnet Meals on Wheels delivers hot meals to qualifying senior citizens in their homes and provides other supportive social services. To further these efforts, it sponsors supportive public outreach events such as the Mac ‘n Cheese Crawl 2021.

To present the Mac ‘n Cheese Crawl, Foodnet Meals on Wheels partnered with multiple local restaurants, which served smaller portions of their best macaroni and cheese dishes to event participants. These participants bought official Mac ‘n Cheese Crawl passports that enabled them to sample some or all of the available dishes. After tasting each dish, participants could vote for their favorite via email, voicemail, or official event mobile app.

Picture
Named one of the Top 50 brokers in the US by Registered Representative Magazine and one of the Top 100 Advisors by Barron's, Keefe Gorman has served as a broker with Merrill Lynch since 1987. In addition to his role with Merrill Lynch, Keefe Gorman spent eight years as a board member with Foodnet/Meals on Wheels of Tompkins County.

To support its mission of alleviating hunger among Tompkins County seniors, the Foodnet Meals on Wheels program aims to preserve dignity and independence as it delivers hot meals directly to clients’ homes. Any adult aged 60 and over who is homebound due to an accident or illness is eligible for meal delivery. Additionally, the program is available to seniors who do not have resources such as a refrigerator or stove, those who are unable to shop for themselves, or those who lack the knowledge and experience to prepare nutritious meals.

In some cases, non-elderly disabled individuals may be eligible under the program, as may non-disabled individuals who wish to purchase meals under the Foodnet Select program.
