Experienced financial planner Keefe Gorman recently celebrated his 30th work anniversary with Merrill Lynch, where he serves as managing director. Outside of his everyday work at Merrill Lynch, Keefe Gorman supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Last September, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society announced its plan to donate funds to those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The organization pledged $1 million to help patients suffering from blood cancers who had been negatively impacted by the hurricane. Through the program, patients can receive up to $500 each to help with travel costs, replacement medicines, and other health-related needs. During the announcement, LLS President and CEO Louis J. DeGennaro, Ph.D., spoke about the additional suffering that blood cancer patients would have to deal with while rebuilding their homes. He then vowed that his organization would do what it takes to provide direct support to such patients. To learn more about the plan or to sign up for aid, visit www.lls.org/hurricane-harvey-relief.
